Beacon Promotions, Inc. COMMITMENT TO ETHICAL AND RESPONSIBLE CONDUCT
Our Company believes we must not only meet the expectations of our customers and consumers, we must exceed those expectations. To that end, we have adopted standards for the safety, quality and integrity of our products and processes and we are committed to respecting the rights of individuals and protecting the environment. We are dedicated to complying with all applicable laws and to conduct business in an ethical and responsible manner.
Employment Relationship
We will adopt and adhere to rules and conditions of employment that respect workers and, at a minimum, safeguard their rights under national and international labor and social security laws and regulations.
Product Safety
We will comply with all applicable laws and regulations regarding safety of products we sell. We will meet applicable recognized voluntary industry standards for our products and processes.
No Abuse Of Labor
We will not use any form of forced labor, including indentured, prison, bonded or slave labor. We will not use physical or verbal harassment or abuse to discipline employees.
No Child Labor
No person shall be employed under the age of 15 or under the age for completion of compulsory education, whichever is higher. We will comply with all minimum age provisions of applicable laws and regulations per the law of the country of manufacturer. Beacon Promotions will consult with government & human rights organizations to minimize the negative impact on children released from employment as a result of enforcement of our code.
Freedom Of Association
We respect the rights of employees to associate or organize without fear of reprisal or interference. If employees are represented by an organization recognized under law, we respect the right to bargain collectively.
No Discrimination
We will not discriminate in employment practices, including hiring, salary, benefits, advancement, discipline, termination, or retirement, on the basis of age, nationality, race, religion, social or ethnic orientation, gender, sexual orientation, political opinion, or disability.
Working Hours
We will comply with the limits on regular and overtime hours allowed by the law of the country of manufacturer. The regular work week shall not exceed 48 hours. The sum of regular and overtime hours in a week shall not exceed 60 hours. Employees are entitled one day (continuous 24 hour period) off in every seven day period.
Wages and Benefits
Employees shall receive at least the minimum wage required by local law, will be provided legally mandated benefits, as well as any fringe benefits required by law or contract. Wages should meet workers basic needs and provide some discretionary income. If not meeting workers’ basic needs, we will work with FLA to take appropriate actions that seek to progressively reach a level of compensation that does.
Overtime Compensation
In addition to compensation for regular hours of work, employees will be paid for overtime hours at a premium rate no less than 1.25 times their regular hourly compensation rate. All overtime work shall be consensual and not requested on a regular basis.
Health and Safety
We will provide a safe, healthy and secure workplace. We will abide by all applicable laws and regulations for safety and health. Proper sanitation, lighting, ventilation and fire safety protection will be provided.
Environment
We abide by all applicable environmental laws and regulations. We will manage our environmental footprint to minimize the adverse impact on the environment. We will manage our energy, water and waste systems for maximum efficiency and minimal adverse impact on the environment.
Harassment and Abuse
Every employee shall be treated with dignity and respect. No employee shall be subject to any physical, sexual, psychological or verbal harassment or abuse. No forms of corporal punishment are tolerated.
Public Disclosure
Beacon Promotions will disclose the location of each factory used in the production of all items which bear Licensed Indicia. This includes all contact information and list of products produced.
Women’s Rights
Women workers will receive equal treatment, and equal opportunity to fill all positions as male workers. Pregnancy tests will not be a condition of employment, nor will workers be forced or pressures to use contraception. Workers who take maternity leave will not face dismissal, loss of seniority, or deduction of wages, and will be able to return to their former employment at the same rate of pay and benefits. Workers will not be exposed to hazards that may endanger their reproductive health. Appropriate services and accommodations will be provided to pregnant workers.
